Message for U.S. Citizens: Upcoming Flight Opportunities to Depart Lebanon
(May 12, 2020)
11 MINUTE READ
May 12, 2020

Event:  Middle East Airlines (MEA) has announced additional flights from Beirut to several destinations in Europe from May 14 to May 24.  U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) interested in departing Beirut can find full details on MEA’s website.

MEA advises that in accordance with current European travel regulations, interested travelers must have confirmed onward travel arrangements to their U.S. destinations before booking with MEA. Travelers may wish to book fully refundable tickets for onward travel, as seats on the MEA flights are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.  Tickets may be purchased through the MEA Call Center at 01-629999 or online at www.mea.com.lb.  Fares vary according to destination.

If you book one of the flights to Paris, please be aware that every passenger transiting or entering France is required to present a completed International Travel Certificate (attestation) before they board the flight.  The form is available in English on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Paris.

Once ticketed, U.S. citizens and LPRs are asked to provide ticket/travel information to the American Citizen Services (ACS) office through the following link: https://bit.ly/2YORJoJ.  This will facilitate ACS to provide additional flight-related information, if required, and alert U.S. embassies of transiting American passengers.

Entries into the United States through Europe are largely restricted to U.S. citizens and LPRs with few exceptions.  Please review this guidance.

Actions to Take:
