Public Diplomacy
The U.S. Embassy Beirut’s Public Diplomacy offers a variety of grant opportunities aimed at promoting mutual understanding and respect for other cultures and traditions. Such opportunities cover an array of themes including educational and cultural programs serving women, youth, underserved communities, and people with disabilities. One example is the renowned Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP), which helps countries around the globe preserve historic sites, manuscripts, museum collections, and traditional forms of expression such as music, dance, and language.
Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI)
The mission of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) is to foster meaningful and effective partnerships between citizens, civil society, the private sector, and governments to resolve local challenges and promote shared interests in the areas of participatory governance and economic opportunity and reform. Focusing on promoting stability and prosperity in the region, MEPI supports partnerships through projects that are responsive to emerging opportunities by being field-driven, applying evidence-based decision-making, and designing results-oriented projects. USAID
USAID has Missions in more than 80 countries and has programs in more than 100. We work in a variety of different technical areas, including: Agriculture, Economic Growth, Environment, Education, Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance, Women’s Empowerment, Water and Sanitation, and Global Health. USAID also responds to humanitarian disasters. USAID partners with a variety of different types of organizations to achieve our mission. This includes working with faith-based and community organizations, the private sector, colleges and universities, and non-governmental organizations.
