Overview

U.S. Embassy Beirut sponsors a variety of scholarships and advising services for students – of all ages – wishing to study in the United States.  While the Fulbright Scholar programs and the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program are perhaps the best known programs sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, there are a variety of programs with EducationUSA that address specific learning objects across a number of fields.

Do you want to study in the United States?  Do you know that there are over 1,486 Lebanese studying in the U.S.?   Our EducationUSA advising center is hosted by AMIDEAST and offers a full range of free services to help students and professionals access higher education at 4,200 U.S. colleges and universities. The center includes an up-to-date library with references, Internet resources, and a professionally trained adviser who works with groups as well as individual students.  EducationUSA is the only official source of information on studying in the U.S. authorized by the U.S. Government. Visit our EducationUSA YouTube channel to see hundreds of our success stories and “like” our EducationUSA page on Facebook to learn more about studying in the U.S.

EducationUSA hosts free workshops explore the U.S. higher education system, helps students learn how to select a university, and advises students on how to finance their studies in the United States.   In addition, EducationUSA Lebanon at AMIDEAST facilitates visits from U.S. university recruiters and U.S. college fair groups.

Other unique programs to assist students include The EducationUSA Competitive College Club (CCC).  This is a program that high schools students can join for free to prepare themselves for competitive U.S. based universities. Students work on community service projects, prepare for SATs and learn how to identify universities that fit: academically, socially and financially.  An additional EducationUSA program available in Lebanon is the Opportunity program that supports talented students who might be eligible for full funding in the U.S., but who do not have the means to pay for tests and applications. Both programs require an application and an interview with the EducationUSA adviser.

Please visit the EducationUSA website at http://educationusa.state.gov and call, visit, or e-mail EducationUSA Lebanon located at AMIDEAST downtown if you want to know more about studying in the United States and the variety of programs and services they offer.
