Location: Widespread Throughout Lebanon
Event: Protests that started on the evening of October 17, are continuing throughout greater Beirut and other parts of Lebanon. Road closures are affecting almost all Lebanese regions and vital highways, including roads surrounding the Beirut International Airport. Due to the road closures and unrest, the Embassy has temporarily restricted off-compound movement of its U.S. personnel. American citizens requiring emergency assistance are advised to call the phone numbers listed below.

— Avoid crowds and the areas of demonstration.
— Follow the instructions of local authorities.
— Contact your airline for flight information.
