A delegation of five American companies in the safety and security sector has arrived in Beirut to explore business opportunities and partnerships with Lebanese companies. Their visit marks the first American government-sponsored trade delegation to Beirut since the Department of Commerce opened its office at the American Embassy in 1998. The company representatives arrived in Beirut after stops in Morocco, Algeria, and Cairo.
While here, these companies will meet one-on-one with Lebanese firms, and with officials at the Lebanese Armed Forces, Internal Security Forces and State Security, with the goal of developing partnerships and increasing commercial activities in the country.
The delegation members will also meet with American Ambassador David Hale.
Supporting American trade delegations to Beirut and Lebanese trade delegations to the United States is part of the America’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the Lebanese economy and fostering bilateral trade.
